To fill out this application you will need to:

  4. Write a statement of purpose focusing on your academic background, scholarly interests, and objectives.
    1. Indicate why you are interested in attending the Medieval Slavic Summer Institute.
    2. Indicate what, if any, experience you have had working with medieval Slavic texts and with manuscripts of any tradition.
    3. Please list all modern and pre-modern languages you have studied and rate your comprehension level.
    4. Please include a list of any courses you have had relevant to medieval studies and to Slavic, Byzantine, and Orthodox culture and history.
    5. Please indicate if there are particular types of texts you would like to study during the MSSI. Please specify genres, titles, recensions, timeframe, etc.
